FAN Animation Hub is an educational platform from FAN – Festivals Animation Network about animated films for viewing, learning, and creating. In the form of a website and an app (available soon), it is a practical tool for teachers, educators and even families to use and to watch and talk about animated films, create animations and toys, and for more professional and academic users, it provides recordings of the trainers’ meeting and the Symposium on European Animation.
As an extension of FAN’s educational area, this platform presents all the animated films, within the scope of Frame, guided and produced by each festival with its younger audience and others, under the theme of Memory and Freedom.
The exploration guides are also a fundamental part and will be divided into more theoretical guides and more practical exercises. This division allows them to be easily found through search and filters and provides greater choice and planning of activities. They will be uploaded over time so that the platform is an effective, practical and regularly used educational tool.
The recordings of the activities ‘Annual Meeting of Animation Trainers’ and ‘Symposium – Perspectives on European Animation’ are professional and academic knowledge resources that allow for the preservation and dissemination of reflections, methodologies and debates developed within the network.
By bringing together contributions from experts, trainers and researchers in European animation cinema and education, the recordings serve as a digital reference archive, accessible to a wide and international audience. Their availability extends the impact of the activities, contributing to the empowerment of the sector, to their use in educational or research contexts, and to the sustainability of the project over time.
About FAN - Festivals Animation Network
FAN – Festival Animation Network – brings together five European animated film festivals – Animafest Cyprus (Salamiou, Cyprus), Animasyros (Syros, Greece), CINANIMA (Espinho, Portugal)(coordinator), IMAGINARIA (Conversano, Italy) and Prime the Animation! (Valencia, Spain) -, spanning from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, alongside Associated Partners around the word.
Our mission is to grow a diverse, international audience, as well as celebrate auteur animation and support emerging talents. FAN fosters collaboration between the five Partner Festivals through shared experiences and exchange of best practices. By joining forces, we work to promote and expand the reach and impact of European animation worldwide. Our programs include school-based productions, community screenings, debates, idea-sharing, and training exchanges. Sustainability, inclusion, and representation are core values to our mission and guide the overall implementation of FAN’s projects with innovative and concrete actions.
